As the world is still under the grip of the COVID-19, every aspect of our life is impacted by this pandemic, teaching and researching included. Due to the necessity of lockdowns and social distancing, traditional teaching and researching scenarios do not seem viable any longer. What then are the possibilities and solutions teachers/researchers could resort to today? Although issues related to COVID-19 have been brought out gradually, some new trends or innovations are expected to be developed to cope with those issues. The forum of “Teaching and Researching in the Shadows of COVID-19: Forward and Beyond” held at Feng Chia University June 25th, 2021 will invite scholars in the field of history, teaching, translation and interpretation, literature to examine how the pandemic hit the world and transformed the world in terms of teaching and researching and what more teachers / researchers could do to cope with the ravaging of the pandemic.
